Our mission at Edwards Greenhouse and the Florist at Edwards is to provide children between the ages of 3 & 12 the opportunity to experience gardening through stories and hands-on activities. The children's gardening club (Edwards Earthworms) is dedicated to instilling a lifetime love of gardening and continuing education. Our objectives are as follows:
1. Provide a place to meet, learn and experience garden and floral activities.
2. Educate children about safe, eco-friendly and sustainable garden practices with guidance from Edwards Greenhouse staff.
3. Promote awareness of the importance individual actions make on a community.
Saturdays from 11a.m. to 12p.m. Check the calendar for dates! All children from ages 3 - 12 are invited to join us!
An annual community tomato contest, held each September. Have a bounty of tomatoes from your garden? Bring them in to be judged, or simply come to taste! We'll feature many varieties of cherries, slicers, and paste tomatoes. Plus, Snake River Seed Co-op will present a seed saving demo.
Our family friendly Autumn Festival is a day full of crafts and celebrations. The last Sunday in September, 11am-4pm, the festival features DIY demos (for a small fee), free classes, live music, children's activities, and food trucks. Also enjoy special sales on fall plant material and hard goods!

You don't want to miss out on this annual event. There's live music, refreshments, beer and wine, and a huge variety of one-of-a-kind holiday gifts available in the Garden Store and from an array of local vendors. Even Santa makes an appearance! First Sunday after Thanksgiving, 11am-4pm.
Edwards Greenhouse provides classes throughout the year, on various subjects and gardening experience levels. Classes are most often free to the public; if fees are applicable they are to cover the cost of supplies.
We provide revolving classes on seed starting, pruning, vegetable growing, and what’s new for the season. We also provide classes on fairy and/or miniature gardening, floral design topics, container gardening, and landscaping subjects. Classes are instructed by horticultural specialists & avid gardeners, such as Edward’s employees, the University of Idaho Master Gardeners program, local garden authors & columnists, landscapers, and folks around town with a passion for all things gardening.
We are always open to suggestions for classes!
Our greenhouse is a unique and great location for a photoshoot! The filtered sunlight inside the greenhouse creates stunning lighting for your photos, and our vast array of plant material year round makes a beautiful backdrop. Please contact our events manager if you’d like to schedule a photo shoot of any kind. Sharing photos from your visit on social media? Want to be featured here? Please use #edwardsgreenhouse so we can see and share your photos!
Weddings, Parties, & After-Hour Events
Sorry, afraid not. It's true we've hosted some great weddings here. But we no longer offer this service. Upon occasion we will host evening events, fundraisers, and private classes. If you're looking for wedding flowers or other botanical décor for your event, we can certainly help you out with that! Visit the The Florist at Edwards page for more info.
